Intro
BioChi is a holistic health SaaS platform using AI, Web3, and quantum tech to personalize wellness. By blending functional medicine, Chinese Medicine, and health data analysis, it delivers proactive insights and AI-powered coaching to support long-term well-being.

The Challenge

Designing the BioChi app posed several unique challenges. The platform’s vision was to combine functional medicine diagnostics, Chinese Medicine principles, and AI-powered health coaching into a single, accessible experience — all while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and usability.

Key challenges included:

  • Provider collaboration: Building secure, intuitive channels for users to request case reviews and receive analysis from healthcare providers without compromising sensitive data.
  • Complex health data: Designing a clear, interactive system to interpret and display lab results, blood panel overviews, and test histories with labels, reference ranges, and charts.
  • Personalized insights: Managing AI-driven recommendations, alerts, and notifications in a way that kept users engaged without overwhelming them.
  • Holistic integration: Blending multiple streams of health data — from diagnostics to lifestyle inputs — into a seamless experience that remained accessible and user-friendly.

In short, BioChi needed a design system capable of balancing cutting-edge health tech innovation with simplicity, trust, and user empowerment.

The Result

The result was a comprehensive mobile and web platform that reimagines holistic healthcare through a modern, user-first design.

Key projected outcomes included:

  • Intuitive health dashboards: Clear visualizations of lab results and biometrics, projected to reduce user confusion by up to 40% compared to traditional reports.
  • Secure provider collaboration: Encrypted communication flows designed to increase patient-provider engagement by an estimated 25%, while maintaining HIPAA-level data security.
  • Personalized recommendations: AI-driven health insights and proactive notifications projected to improve user adherence to wellness goals by 20–30%.
  • Streamlined onboarding: Research-informed flows designed to cut setup time from over 20 minutes to less than 10, lowering barriers for first-time users.
  • Scalable research platform: A back-office web app for providers and researchers, expected to accelerate provider adoption by 15–20% within the first year.

By combining user personas, journey maps, and competitive analysis, BioChi’s design not only solved for user pain points but also set a new benchmark for holistic healthcare platforms. The system was built to empower patients with actionable insights, strengthen provider collaboration, and ultimately foster long-term wellness outcomes — projecting meaningful impact at both the individual and industry level.
